I dont have a wife
The girlfriend used to work there, but she didnt agree with some of their policys and decided to get a better job.
I can say that they have taken one step in the right direction (around here anyway). They have stopped selling albino channel cats and some of the other fish that get very large.

Hey i caught a Crappie in last may it had a crooked tail ever seen one it in before the wild? (i believe it's a birth defect i seen fish in all the LFS around my city before with bent tails form as babies!)

Old wives tales...say something to enough people for long enough and it becomes a truth.

Ever see a Aro, cat or gar with a permanently bent tail?!

Hey man i work for a pet store. and when i tell someone that they shouldent get a fish its for a good reason. Well First off if you run a tank with no fish its not gonna cycle , fish produce amonnia wich starts the cycling process, and also a 10 gallon is way to small for puffers , they can get huge sometimes, So the fish store guy was right on giving you advice. I know i hate it when a angry costomer comes in with a dead fish because he didnt know what was up.

I don't always like the employees at fish stores but a lot of them do try to do the best they can, remember how many people go in there just to buy/kill fish everyday, I think it can get to be a little too much for the employee's as well. It would be nice if all employees/customers/myself knew everything there is to know about fish, but unfortunately this will never happen, all we can do is spread as much knowledge as we can through our site/friends etc. once someone is at Walmart buying a dozen pacus for their new 10 gallon it's already way too late to change their minds! No matter how hard we or the employees may try,

Lmao there was feeder fish in there so it could cycle and i've had mbu puffers before in my old 280 gallon custom... and yes the 10gal was small but considering these puffers were no bigger than my pinkie nail i could had them in the 10 gallon and moved them to a 75 gallon or 120 gallon when ever they needed
