I hear ya on Wal-Mart. Once I waited 30 minutes to get some guppies and mollies scooped out (wanted to breed some feeders). So I finally just scooped out my own fish and labeled them. I gave myself a discount because I had to do the labor. :)

Ballsy. I wouldn't do that. You could get caught. And if the employee was a real prick, charged with petty theft. Now that would be fun!

Yay! Juvie!!!

the research i did on them led me to think they would hold their own since they are 1.5 to 2 times the size of the zebra i full well expected them to eat a few of my johani but its like the wolfs were actually sheep

the two surviving ones are doing fine in the 75 i transferred them to but im pretty sure for the week that i have to keep them in there they will eat one or two of my geo

i looked to a few sites on these fish this being one of them

http://www.malawicichlidhomepage.com/panis/aristochromis_christyi.htm

and it lead me to the conclusion that they would be ok in that tank since they were suppose to be a mbuna hunter

I won't even look at the fish at Wal-Mart with intentions of buying unless they are feeders for my Red Ear Slider ain't nothing gone bother that things stomach. I think WM selling fish is cruelty and if you buy them you are just going to bring a disease to your own tank.

I made the mistake of listening to a LFS and bought a bunch of different small ciclids, and I think she gave me SA and CA. They did ok for a while and then just one of them kept killing and eating all the rest. From then on I tried doing research on what I'm buying before I did. I lost a bunch of money with those fish trying to fill up a 55.

Adding new fish to a mbuna tank can be tricky regardless of what you add.I usually take all the rocks out to break up territories before adding new fish. Some cover the tank for 24-48 hours of pitch dark to introduce new fish.Just dropping them in I would expect exactly what happened,to happen.Thats the lesson here.;)

Yeah, if I got caught, I was going to feign ignorance. Intent is actually a big part of shoplifting cases. I would have been fine.
