While doing my weekly 50% water change today one of my Festivums got it's head stuck in the siphon. The fish is about 3-4", the siphon hose is 3/4". I stopped the siphon to get it out. It's head is a bit mangled and it has a bulging eye. This has never happened to me before, I might change to a 1/2" siphon to reduce the suction.

The wounds should heal,I'm not sure what will become of the eye.

Ugh, I’ve done this too. The one time I get distracted.... thankfully(in his case) my syphon didn’t have really strong suction. I think the opening is 1”-1 1/4” or something like that. My Black moor was fine. No injuries. Not sure how long he was in there.
I hope your guy heals up fast, and hopefully won’t lose his eye.

Yep i had a female rivulatus that attacked it head first. She'd torn a huge chunk out of her head. **** was rough. Gotta watch out

I once sucked up a giant danio, he basically went for a log flume ride until I reversed the flow; he came out with pretty shredded scales, and remained a bit disabled for a few days until my Oscar ate him :/
