FISH TANK KINGS OR TANKED?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - those are reality TV shows with fish.... not reality fish shows on TV. Both casts will tell you it's all staged and aimed for an audience OTHER than fish keepers. What you see on the show is not how they really build/install high end tanks. It's edited for time, and drama. 99% of the population doesn't care or won't understand the technical end of it. They want friction, drama, mistakes and rushing around like crazy.

Tanked just because i like the guys better. I pretty much wanna slap everyone on fish tank kings.

Season two of FTK adds a new person. I give you my word that that you will like her.

I refuse to watch either. I honestly feel like reality TV shows like these promote the culture that is cause for things such as mistreatment of animals and even HHR 669, now HHR 699. They show people how cool all these tanks are with all these rare and exotic species. Once the realize how much maintenance and cost is associated or they lose interest, they dump the fish wherever they can.

It's in a thread, the guy's sister works at the orthodontist's office so he got to see them film it and he stayed there after the filming and watched the massacre, ill give you the link, just look for the guy 00rollins, he's on the first page:

its also in a YoutTube video.

I couldn't find it on YouTube. Do you have a link to the video or title by any chance?
I'm Not a skeptic- I just want to see the video & download it to show my wife and a few other folks.

thanks

Good points Zoodiver and Pharaoh but I'd rather watch Fishtank Kings....I like how enthusiastic Francis seems to be when he goes on and on about certain fish he considers for a project and as for the TV antics, his bickering with his coworkers is much more watchable than the yelling and silliness of the other show.

Sure, but it's a little graphic (it has no blood, just a shark eating a shark.)

As you can see in the video, all the fish and rays are gone (if you see the tanked episode on it you will notice the fish and stingrays are all gone). The only animals left are the nurse shark (eating the last cat shark) a blinded BTRS (I'm surprised it still knows where it's going!) and a long fish that swims sideways at the top of the tank, I have no idea what it is, can someone tell me what it is? I kind of think its a remora but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong as remoras have never been kept in tanks (as far as I know, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Also for those of you that haven't seen the tanked episode, here it is. You will right away tell the difference of the tank in the episode and the tank now.

Thanks for the link... truly disturbing. Those clowns should be ashamed of themselves

Those sharks can be kept together, and are on a regular basis. For the nurse to go after that bamboo means it hasn't been fed or cared for properly by the owners. Instead of filming it, it might have been a good idea to do something about it. I blame every single employee standing there taking pics for the loss of that shark.

Often times on the builds for shows, they stock the tanks for the cameras, and then remove all the fish so they don't blast the tank hard with ammonia and a hard cycle. Just saying that the full story isn't being seen, and a lot of assumptions are being made.

Remoras can be kept very easily. In fact you don't even need to keep them with sharks. There are several species, just make sure to get one of the smaller species.

I kinda like tanked...I know it isn't 100 percent real .but I enjoy it anyway.all the fake drama makes me giggle:)
