Fish tank weight

It's really hard to ever take the OP serious with some of the nonsense threads you post and then the large inaccuracies within your so called serious threads. Yes there is a way to reinforce your floor from above the floor. It would be nice too help you along with this but you lack in basic knowledge and don't seem to even want to spend any time researching this.

Skjl47 gave you a link to a very good article regarding this, have you read it? If so why are you not asking questions regarding that article, cause I know you don't completely understand the entire thing.

First step in deciding tank placement is to know which direction your floor joists are running.

U are very misinformed. And are stating what you'd like to call facts as extremely opinioned media propaganda. Their is absolutely no way for anybody to know on any of my threads wheather or not I have done prior research. In this case I have done EXTENSIVE research. So false. I read the entire article. I think 4 times now. Every time I go to this thread I skim through it. But that's just to pick up the tidbits so I can remember. I don't recall any inaccuracies. I believe the majority agreed with me about fish can be starved for several months. Please by all means do something actually productive in 1 of my threads. Like helping me with the floor calculations which you failed to get to in the above.

Hello; I usually consider a tank with all accessories to be anywhaere from 10 to 12 pounds per gallon. This would make a 125 somewhere around 1250 pounds or more.
here is the web address of an article that talks about the issue.

I have seen this link many times over the years. I favorited this when I was planning my birthday tank back in April. I remember reading it then.

The only bearing wall in my house is in the 2nd living room and the formal dining room. Those are both downstairs. The walls were constructed to support the weight of my dad's old tv since the house was built almost 20 years ago. The tv weight over a thousand pounds. And in the other a display rack containimg very heavy china and old porcelain, ceramic, and stainless steel decorations.

Im confused.........on page one you said you lived at home with your parents, then further down the page you said you lived on your own, but you still couldn't use the garage? maybe I missed something.

options
1) rebuild your house
2)fill the tank 1/4 full and keep turtles
3) put the tank downstairs.

If a structural engineer told you you were above the limit, no amount of questions here is going to change it. Sounds like you're waiting to hear what you want to hear, but you haven't. Best of luck!

Wow,

I tried, now I'm done. You shouldve stated which direction your floor joists are running. I did state this as being the first thing to find out in determining tank placement. I have done extensive research and talked with strutural engineers, the 450g tank in my sig is sitting on a framed wood floor, I do have some pretty good knowledge on the subject. Oh well, good luck with your build.

Oh pleazzzeeeee.... A house has to have at least 4 load bearing walls. ALL exterior walls are load bearing walls. Not just the TV wall and China wall. A 1/2 ton TV? Really? How come you didn't address where others are calling you on your BS from the other threads that contradict what you are putting in this thread? I read your threads for the contradictions. You are a funny man / boy / girl / woman? Whatever / whomever you are.

A thousand pound TV? Sorry, this never happened. You must be referring to something like a solid oak TV entertainment center wall unit. Even then, these weighed in at 300-500 lbs for a full wall unit.
