Fish that gain $$$$$ with age/growth

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Stuff that is very slow growing and in high demand. Large clown loaches are insanely expensive, but they take a few decades to grow to that size. Dats are the same way, although they grow faster than the loaches I think.

-stingrays
-discus
-black/asian arowanas + jardini, lei
-dats
-clown loaches
-piranha
-fancy plecos
-etc.

my uncle grows out fish to sell (he has a real job, does this on the side), once he sold his whole collection of discus for $300, and made a profit on an asian arowana by $200

Someone told me that full grown piranhas are a super tough to get rid of. Plus my LFS has a clown loach thats about 6" for $60...this a good deal?

I saw a clown loach about 12" at Aquarium Adventure in Columbus several weeks ago. He was really expensive. I don't remember how much, but he was already sold when I saw him, just waiting to be picked up.

I'd never seen one bigger than about 6" in person. I'm pretty sure my jaw literally dropped when I saw it. It was amazing!
