Gold fish, Carps, and Guppy... raise it to get the required growth... ahahaha.... just joking... Of course flowerhorn is the best... your can try freshwater barracuda, but i dont think they still exist.. hahaha :D
:D:D:D

all of the fish I can think of have already been mentioned. great thread idea tho.

I had an aztek cichlid that had to be house alone, but I think that was just becuase that particular fish was evil!

Well my first choice would have to be a GATF,VATF,BATF, aimara, and mala but its finding a way to get them to me at a cheap price so that I don't have to go far is the problem!

I am not 100% on the current scientific name, but the Crystal-Eyed Catfish (Mystus Wyckii?) is definitely best housed on its own.

+2 for the Hemibagrus Wyckii "Crystal-Eyed Catfish"

They are very aggressive and very territorial. Some have even been known to attack their owners!

Maximum Length of them is said to be 28".

I knew that they changed the genus, but I couldn't remember what to.

I had one for about a month twenty years ago. It was housed with several other big cats, all close in size or bigger than the wyckii. When I came home to find one of my synodontis (who was about 2/3 the length of the wyckii and stocky) sticking out of the wyckii's mouth I had had enough...

Yes, & the hemibagrus wyckioides "Asian Redtail Catfish" is also very aggressive and territorial. Both the Asian Redtail Catfish and the Crystal-Eyed Catfish should be kept alone (unless of course you want to see the other tankmates get eaten).

Unlike the Crystal-Eyed Catfish though, the Asian Redtail Catfish is said to max out at a whopping 38-50"!!
