The tank size will be the size that fits the fish... I've heard that the crystal eyed catfish was quite the beast!

Umbee all the way. When it comes down the aggressiveness the umbee takes the cake. If you want an exciting fish go with the umbee. Doviis are aggressive but are not active swimmers.
to me these are beginner cichlids.. Dovii/Jags/RD/MIDAS/FLOWER HORN. I owned all these fishes and finally stopped when I own an umbee. I have my umbee in solo tanks they are just great fish to have as they only look better day by day after owning my umbees for almsot 2 years they still look better day by day. other fish on the other hand all look the same past 10"..just my 1 cents.

Jardini seems OK when small but unless kept in a crazy "asian style" tank.....super overstocked with massive filtration.....they will eventually need to alone.....like any animal it does depend a bit on the individual
