Fish the LFS can't get rid of

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i cant say why, but at my lfs there is a tank with 4 large tinfoil barbs that i have seen grow in that little tank for 5 or 6 months now. the owner, whom i have a good relationship with, told me if after a year they are still not sold, they are all mine. so im keeping my fingers crossed haha

there is another lfs near me with a pond set up and they have a 15 inch redtail cat that has been there since they opened haha that things not going anywhere.

the store i just visited had a bumblebee grouper in like an area smaller then my bath tub, i asked my friend how much and he said the owner wants like 1k for it.

A fahaka puffer that justs sits there in a 15g for over $100. A veija fenestrus that is very interactive but more $$$ than anyone I know has lol. And a three foot red-tail they just can't get rid off.

12" clown knife 20$ I'd buy him if I had my own house to set up tanks in...A pair of oscars in the same shop been there for about four or five months.

The other shop I got a 12" plec cost 12$ people bring them in constantly but somehow they seem to move out quick. Worries me a bit that they are just going where ever...well lol I didn't get asked how big my tank was when I bought mine.

All the shops here also have reptiles. Tons of boa constrictors. One poor guy had half his face chewed off by a live rat. I'm not sure if he hasn't been sold due to recovery pr just no one wants a deformed snake though. An albino burm that took a couple of months for the specialty reptile shop to sell but it was honestly not a snake many people would want to own. Always restless. Someone had rescued it because it was in too small of an enclosure and had scars all over it's body. It had blood all over from chomping on said rescuer who gave it them right after.

Anybody else with rare/random/monster fish that their LFS can't get rid of for the life of them?

My LFS has a Koferi that has been there for at least 8 months. He's about 7" long and they have him in a 20g tank. I wanna get him outta there ASAP but my 150g isnt ready yet. Anybody have experience with a Koferi?

mine had these RTCxTSN hybrids for nearly a month or so and then one died and then i picked up the other and he recently died
then there were these baby gars spotted/florida they were at the lfs for 2 months and then now they are in one of my grow out tanks
and now there are these jag chiclids and a 17" RTC and 3"+ sens and a few fronts which are there for nearly 2 months
and i don't have much space so i am not going there at all
