Fish the LFS can't get rid of

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, such expensive fish...I think it's the price itself that made all your guys LFS fish stays there for years!

Gulper cats, wow your guys are like $300??? My LFS sells them for $70-$100 depend on the size. $100 gulper are 12-14"...$70 are like 3-5".
Sturio Cat for $500???...LOL. My LFS sells them for $100, but this thing is at least 14".
Everything in my LFS goes out pretty quick, or maybe they sell it to some other shop also...I don't know. But one of the fish that will always be in stock in my LFS is the Giant Red Tail Gourami. Everything goes out pretty quick, they even have XL Jag that is about 16-18" and they go for $50 ea...still gets sold out.

The longest thing that I have seen that has stayed in my LFS for years is the Wolf Fish(it's because it's not for sale LOL.) And the large Jardini(I've seen it since July 09 and it is still there last time i went there which is December 09) which is about 25-30" in my estimation that is up for sale for $250.00 :D

One of mine had a Lima Shovelnose for months!
They had to keep moving it to bigger tanks haha.

Another has like a 7-8" Frontosa and a 15" RTCxTSN.

I also remember one with an Arapaima that was like 12"

At one LFS I've seen a 9" Tigrinus that's been there for almost a year and they been trying to sell it for 1100 CAD...Then just this past 2 months they had a 50% off sale on all fish because they were moving to a new location and it's still there lol

Let's see, they've got a Black Tip Reef Shark, Nurse Shark, and some sort of smooth hound shark (The last one jumped out of the pond overnight). They sold the last Black Tip to a guy for about $3,000. There's also a betta there that I bought that fakes its own death when it leaves the shop. It's been sold and brought back around 12 times. It's fine in the store, but once you get it home and acclimated, it'll just tip over and float on its side. Once you get it back in its bowl at the store though, it'll be fine!

my lfs cant seem t get red of its large oscars, they have been there since ive been going which is about 8 months now. plus the bastards have really small tanks for the fish. i only go there cos they have sum exotic cichlids:(

@ Fish City here in Ohio there is a 6-8" Monster Clown Loach that has beautiful deep dark black bars. The reason it will not sell is the owner wants 200.00 bucks for it:screwy:.

I don't really consider Petsmart a LFS, but there is one near me that is trying to sell their Red Belly Pacu for $1. They have had them for at least 6 months,in the very small divided tanks, and they have started to tear each other apart. One was missing half of it's tail fin. I think it's funny that they try to sell these huge fish, but don't sell tanks larger than a 150.
