My LFS had a decent7 inch male flowerhorn that they wanted $350 for. He sat there for months and months in 2 cubic feet of water, lost all color and kok, last time I saw him he looked sickly with a pimple on his lower lip and last week he wasnt there. I hope he found a home and didnt just die. This particular lfs has a couple know-it-all douchebags there. They seem to get rude if you dont buy what theyre selling.
Ternetzi piranhas for 200 bucks each, 4 of them atleast a foot long, super duper thick too. they've been at this pet store for atleast 3 years now. They'll never sell for the price though because of the horrible chimple on their face will always scare people away for the asking price.
my LFS has had an African tiger fish in a 30 gallon for over 4 months now. They are asking $250 bucks (not to mention one of these fish need a huge tank in excess of 3-400 gallons). I contemplated buying it but something that big is just too ridiculous for my budget. Good luck finding a buyer for that on Chicago's southside. Maybe a coke dealer will like that mouth of fangs and buy it, otherwise I don't know of anyone else around here with that kind of disposable income.
One of our LFS has a Giant Gourami that is about 13" and mean as can be.
Constantly trying to fight the 10" Dovii in the next tank, and maybe could win.
They want 99$ for it and it has easily been there a year.

At the store I work at, we seem to keep some of the salts a very long time. Our oldest member has got to be a spotted hawkfish...it's been over a year. I've had an undulated trigger for a while (he is almost our store mascot).
Fresh... I've had a polypterus palmas for a few months, I actually just moved him to a tank front and center because it's time for him to sell. I did get a foot long red tilapia last week that I'm concerned might sit for a while, but I can drop the price if need be.
