That brick is definitely a red Oscar.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that red that wasn’t a tiger.

I was originally going to get a tiger...my LFS had about 50 2 inch oscar babies in a tank. I picked an albino (who succumbed to ich medication) and a thick, pushy little red. They had some gorgeous tiger babies. But this tiny red O (who was really kinda copper at the time) kept shoving his way to the front. A few of the tigers were pushy too. But this red danced! I think Brick picked me more than I picked him.

I really thought he was going to be a 'penny' copper colored O. His face and fins were solid black. Then he gets to around 5 inches and the red starts to pop out...he got a spotted pattern like a leopard. At the time I thought he was morphing into a tiger. But the red started taking over later on, even in his fins. So back in december he was nearly solid red with white edge fins . Now his black pigment is back and his scales look 'peppery'. But the red underneath stays the same. So currently his head is kinda black and his fin tips are black. A few scales are white with black dots! He might change again, have no idea. ?

I may still get a tiger at some point.

Felix will change colors a bit depending on his cover.
On the dark end of the tank against the black back, his dark dorsal side is black and the yellow gets more reddish and dark.
at the "planted" end, his black turns a lighter dark olive-green and the red almost vanishes while yellow glows to match the bright yellow plants.

It happens fast too. He changes colors in one second.

Yeah I've seen it in Brick. Before I got the 24/7 finnex lights I would manually turn lights on and off. He'd wake up kind of a washed out orange before changing to red. Now he pretty much stays red. The top of his head goes ashy light gray when he's upset. It happens in like 2 seconds!

Is that deal a normal deal on Black Friday? If so I might just have to get two 125’s
Found this in my pictures from last year, that’s a 75 gallon so I’m doubtful it’s a normal deal.
