Well, basically, I would rather have a dog even though it's feces are much larger, it's more expensive to keep, smells more, and needs tons of time to train it, you can still do so much more with a dog than you could with a fish.
You can't take a fish where ever you go to put the little kids in awe with. I know, it would be cool if they made water that could form into a bubble tye thingy and float beside you as you took your morning jog with a arampiama tagging along behind you, but unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way, lol.
You can wrestle with a dog, teach it to play fetch, teach it to retrieve birds that you shoot down while hunting. (I go hunting every once in a while with my cousin's dogs, it's so cool how they point and fetch, haha.)
You can use a puppy to pick up on girls, hehe.
No fish can do that for you, lol.
A loyal dog will protect you from intruders, no matter what size it is. (Unless it is a chihuaha, lol, they are all bark and no bite.)
You have to invest a lot of time into a dog as well as an aquarium, but in the end, you get more out of the dog than you can out of any wet pet.
It's nice to show off a giant fish to family and friends every once in a while, but it's better to have something that is able to function more as a companion.
Dogs win, but, luckily, you can have both at the same time!
