Fish with Arowana - bottom

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Please show me a picture of a 18" disc diameter Retic....Yes, they could possibly get that size but is that normal? No, not really...all depends on the ray's genetics. How about a scobina and a hystrix? I don't think they can get 18" in diameter too.....Just lay off my back please. I'm sure some members here will agree that a retic can be housed in a tank with 36" width for life easily...

Sorry to derail your thread Michalm....

Im not trying to pick on you. Sorry if I sound like that. Im just trying to make sure you know how big rays will get.

Oh, I know and no hard feelings here. :)
As I have had ray in the past BUT never had the chance to grow them out to their fullest. That is why I'm starting a new project with them. And I have done my homework and research on them, to understand how much responsibility it is put on me when I own one. I was just throwing them out there because I enjoy my little girl so much I just wanted him to share the same experience as you and me. :D

Depending on your size of tank. I'm assuming big because you keep arowanas. I'll go with a pair of rays. :D
Otherwise bichirs are good.

Yes, the Rays will be perfect, but my tank is only 180, and I have black gravel (I'm not sure that gravel is good for rays).

Thank you ! My next tank will be with rays !

:D Glad I can help! Think about upgrading within 2 or 3 years once the ray hits that 24" mark.

My next tank will by in my next home - 5-6 years. 180 gal. is the biggest size that I could get in to my basement :)
