Or you could try cynodon gibbus, like a mini payara, gets maybe 10 inches max...

somebody needs to check facts before spitting out genus and types of caracins. Half listed earlier are saltwater fish. Can belong to the same family or genus and be saltwater fish. Besides, not all have huge teeth like the payara.

You clearly don't have a clue. None of the characins listed are saltwater, they are all freshwater.
 
The problem is a 90 gallon is a bit it and miss how wide is it? hepsetus odoe (African pike)
Gets to about 24”

The better one would be the red tailed barracuda or fresh water or Acestrorhynchus falcatus but as pointed out they are fast moving fish and can smash them self against the end of the tank. These get to about 15” and would me more suited to your tank.

As for African Tiger no way I had 3 to grow out in a 6x2x2 and they still 2 of them damaged them self at a foot. These fish require round ponds or huge tanks.
