Fishes are dying off.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The water's always looked the same.
By the way, the venustus that was floating belly up, the one which I expected to die seemed to have recovered. I placed him in another tank and left him there. When I checked up on him this morning, he's still kicking, and not going belly up anymore.

sounds tricky hmmm...maybe the school of peacock bass is to big idk when i had my school of pbass they were aggresive and i could not keep any other fish with them but my flowerhorn thats how aggresive and hungry they were attack all there tankmates

not pbass its an african chiclid called a peacock, its not a really aggressive species. =]

If the fish recovered in another thank that would make me think that your tank is crashing. You may want to pull out the rest that are still a live and get them in another stable tank, but don't over crowd one tank or you may run into the same issue. You may not want to add them with other fish either incase it is something else. Did you get your water tested yet?

So, two more died today. The colour was fading from the tip of the fins on one of them.
I think I'm just gonna go around town looking for a water tester.

Test your water and buy a big bottle of Superbac or Stability to help increase your biological filter and stop any crash. You may want to think about adding an additional filter. Showing pics of your tank and filtration would help us a lot. As right now we are just throwing darts in the dark.

Definately get the kit and let us know the results of the test.

My initial guess is that your new fish brought something with them. You don't use live feeders do you?

I always put new fish in a quarantine tank for a minimum of 1 week...regardless of the source. 2 weeks are preferred. Its always better safe than sorry.

Invest in a test kit. You can find a full kit for about $30. It will bring a great ROI.
