I'll definitely consider that. Anyone know any places outside of Disney, but close by, that I can try? I would like to do some fishing for some of the invasives

Orlando is central fl. All the cool invasive cichlids, snakeheads are in south Florida. Dade county area. It's a bit of a ride. There are plenty of monsters to catch in Orlando. I was pulling 10lb channel cats out a lake on a Marriott resort in Orlando

Yeah other then some tilapia and the occasional pleco, youre not going to run into many exotics in Orlando. Head south a few hours drive and youll start finding some cool stuff.

I am a "professional" fishing guide myself. Those rates are high, Im just $185 for one and $250 for two but that is 4-5 hours.

Just got back from Disney a few days ago. I thought about one of the trips, but not for that money. We stayed at the Art of Animation resort. There is a good size lake just behind it, with a boat ramp at one end. I went down the ramp to the water one day to look around. Saw lots of little fish that were probably mosquito fish. Also saw a bowfin cruise up close to the ramp, it was about 14" long and there was a small lmb right behind it. I should have taken my pack rod.

I might just pay for a few hours there and skip the guide. How does it work anyway and where would I get a pass to do this?

Actually you can fish Disney property for free if your staying there. The fort wilderness campground has a few canals and some frontage on bay lake for really good largemouth fishing..
