Most of the serious infestations of pet store escapees are much further down south. Here in Fort Lauderdale or Miami, they are plentiful. Central and Northern Florida get a bit too cold. You'll get some Mayan Cichlids there and maybe an Oscar or two. Also, lots of Tilapia.

Sorry but you won't get either Mayans or oscars in Orlando.. Plecos are in the area and some pacu in the springs near wachiva

Just that mini cold spell yesterday killed a half dozen really nice colored Midas in the canal by my work. About 50 degree air temp.

Carful there's a bunch of dicks in here that as soon as you catch a pacu they freak out . No it's fake picture I'm a biologist that's impossible yet we catch them a lot and I've seen juveniles so they breed lol do you guys get African jewels that north ?

I've never encountered any jewels up this way. Afew black acara though.Ya it's funny cause a guy caught a 10lb. Pacu in a pond and it made the local paper! Lol
