I have killed a few bear with bow no problems and yes I prefer my 300 WSM over a 270 when bear hunting anyday.

Best bet is broadside center of the shoulder. Hits the heart and lung. You don't want if facing you, as you have a lot less chance of hitting the vitals.

I don't hunt, but if I did it would be with a bow all the way. Or my bare hands!

If hit in the proper place, how long does the bow take to take out the bear?
