I would never attemp a grizzly with a 30.06....that is courting disaster, imo.

Having sauid that I would not shoot a bear, at this day and age, as I would not shoot any big mammalian. The time for that is long gone, imo...

More browns have been taken in Alaska with a 30'06 than any other round. Very versital round and still amoung the most popular for locals. And if your not interested in hunting them anyway, doesn't really matter.:)

Thanks M...

Awesome pics!

No, it does not really matter in my case ( only like hunting for boars ):).

But, again, as a personal opinion, I would prefer, faced with a grizzly, something with more stopping power. From 300 magnum upwards.
Would hate to have a grizzly full of 06 lead still running, away, or against me....

an air rifle someone said, from inside a tank maybe so it didnt kill
you unless you shot his sac and scared him

mm... so you're trying to say that a tiny piece of lead going to 1600 fps couldn't go through the bears flesh into the rib cage and embedding it's self in a vital organ? strange, I'd think other wise. :screwy:

Actually Id doubt it. Going through thick hair, a tough hide, and lots of fat and muscle, not to mention bone, would be close to impossible for an air rifle to do. Maybe a neck shot to the jugular...naw.

to one his own, I'm just saying, there is alot of pressure on that tiny piece of lead. my mate has shot feral cats, in the head, and the bullet has passed through both sides (with an .177 air rifle). I'll try and dig up a picture.
