FISHING SEASON 09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So CF by your standards I lost again today by 2 Bass :irked:, but by my standards I won in that as I have stated before I fish for quality not quantity, When I fish size matters, Fishing for me is a catch Big or go Home type of sport. And while The guide Jersey JAck caught the higher number of Bass today, I landed the largest Bass of the day 6.2lbs :headbang2and my smallest Bass of the day was 2lbs:headbang2, Jersey JAck's largest Bass for the day was 3lbs.

Note that both the 6.2 and the 2.5 Bass where caught using a jig w. Crawdad trailer, The rest of the Bass I caught today where on Spinnerbaits. I could not even get one blow up today on a rubber frog, let alone a hit which I later lost in a break off trying to pull it out of weeds.

So just let me say this I heard it said that NJ/NY area is expecting snowing tomorrow, which is actually today looking at the clock. It should at least give you some sort of comfort that I will be out on a Kayak tour tomorrow with Jersey JAck and a new member/guide to the tour, guiding us up a creek that both sides are private property, and is known for large gators. I may get arrested or I could just get attacked by a gator or three :nilly:.

Sound, flash, and vibration are the keys Ive learned for night time bass fishing. Shallow flats next to deep water seem to produce best. Dark colors, Or chrom colors that reflect light. Rattle traps, Blade baits (Buzz baits, spinner baits, Chatter baits), and other topwaters.

I don't know if either of you have seen the waters in Florida outside of the photos ppl post. Most of the lakes and ponds that I have fished regardless of how beautiful they look in photos are generally coffee colored brown, Deep dark green or in the case of some delevopements Slime or pea soup green and I have caught 30 to 50 Bass in them.

When I Bass Fish at night I use whatever colored worm I pull out of my pocket and a weighted hook and bounce it off the bottom. My largest Bass at night was 7lbs, maybe up north the buzz and flash work well at night in Florida they work Amazingly well in attracting Gators. When I do night fishing I generally do it somewhere I don't really have permission to fish, so I can't really use a head lamp or anything I go by the light of the moon.

Very nice six pounder!!!!

Well people we took the Kayaks up the Creek and while the lilly pads weren't as thick as I had hoped. We did get a few nice Bass and our guide for the tour even caught a few crackers. The Actual count by lunch time was Paul the guide 3 Bass & 2 Shell Crackers, Jersey JAck 2 Bass and myself 3 Bass. After lunch Jersey JAck and myself headed off to another spot for round two. We found a nice spot, and while Jersey JAck was able to stir up the Bass he seemed to have trouble setting the hook. Mean while I had to battle a Power Pro bird nest, after cutting away some 30ft of line I was up and running again. Tied on a weedless worm and took command of the fishing session, at 9 Bass to 4 I decided to tie on a Jig whipped it out into this corner area , just after the second bounce I felt a pick up cranked the reel one turn and set the hook - The rest is history!

THIS BASS MEASURED 22 INCHES AND WEIGHED 4.1 POUNDS, I THOUGHT IT WAS A BIT ON THE SLIM SIDE BUT, I'M NOT COMPLAINING.
