Today trout season began. So as every year i go out and go bass fishing. The whole time i was there nobody caught anything including me. It really surprised me cause just two weeks ago i had been straight killing the bass and pickeral. I even waited to the perfect time of the day(prime time) to go out there. Dont know if its the rain,the fact they just fed the fish over 500 trout, or just one of those days. I seen one person with two trouts but he had been put there since 7:30 and it was going on 4:00. I left there and went to the D&R canal.
Since yesterday i had the trout going crazy using the same thing killing the bass and cp's. On top of my brother going out earlier catching 14 and keeping 6 trout today i thought i could get some catches before the day was over. Well i didnt even get a bite and gave up after about 45 minutes of died casting.
It was a SUPER slow day but ha atleast i went fishing!!!!!!!!!

I caught one bass on the private pond, the pond i caught my last bass on. there are spawning here in ponds so iam sure they are spawning in lakes near you.

I going to start the update by saying the "crank bait" killed the "lipless" today. I was able to get two small CP's not too long after we were on the water. Big bruh caught two decent CP's and then a BIG CP. I on the other hand throwing my "lipless" couldnt buy a bite. Big bruh went on to get two bass one on a "lipless" and yet another fish caught using a "crank bait". It had been awile since anyone has caught anything and i was getting restless. I hadnt had a bite in over two hours so i go into my bag to see how i can switch it up. I try tubes,worms,different color lipless,jigs,chatter baits and spinnerbaits but i soon realize that i skipped over one technique. I go through my bag to see if i have any "husky jerk baits" but my stupid behind left my plastic lure case in the truck thinking i wouldnt need it. So as the best replacement i throw on a new bait i brought made by sebil. It was actually what i was looking for. On my 3rd cast i had the pleasure of seeing a BIG CP bang on my sebil "jerk bait". Nobody had a bite after that and we packed it up for the day.
The day was a fairly good one. I learned that sometime going deeper on certain days will be more effective. Secong thing i learned today was that the presentation of your lure matters a great deal on certain days. Today the straight retrieve with the "lipless" wasnt the best, where as the stop and go with the "crank bait" and "jerk bait" was how the fish perferred it today.

The water is still pretty cold here and i dont see any signs of the bass spawing yet. The sunnies havent even came out yet. I can count on two hands the number of them ive seen so far this year.
yes well small ponds warm up much faster. plus it says hes from GA so iam sure they are spawning there they were prespawn down south during the Classic
yep im in ga and also not a small pond but a 88 acre lake with a depth of 128 at its deepest. but yeah how do you use rattletraps have a few but have never caught anything before.
