FISH LANDED-1 :irked::irked:

Got off work alittle early and ran straight home to meet Dennis at the "bass bus".

We went to the amazon. The water was 51.3 and I said to "D" thats not really a good thing. There was one dude out there in his boat and he said he had got only one in three hours. The day went fast and we hadnt even had a bite. I just know I was going to do shunk update but no no. I had just cast under a "lay down" and this little 10"er jumped right on the spinny. The fish was small but dam if it didnt make me feel good!!

Should of just hit up a couple shore spots but ha you live and you learn!!

Striped Bass... The REAL New York state fish, lol
I really need to tie into a good Striper... I'd even take a 12" schoolie, lol
My personal best is 4.5"...I desparately need to break that :screwy:

Well going by pics I've seen you posted in the past and how tight the drag is set I'd say you would have been dragged in the water. :WHOA: The same night I caught this one a friend was pulled off his feet by a 50 inch Stripper but was able to land the fish anyway. Sorry no pic.
What pics? for having 14 pound test line my drag is extremely loose. Or do you mean he would have run all the line out and then pulled me in?
Any way i am sure it would be fun to fight a fish that big!

Know what I meant was looking at the pics you posted inn the past if that is you in the photos a fish the size of the one in my photo would have pulled you into the water. I use 20lbs test mono line at the time, we fish at the waters edge a fish that size may have pulled you in the water only a few feet.

Using a reel with 14lbs test and having extremely loose drag, a fish that size would strip you reel in no time. I now use power pro even in salt water fishing I use 50lbs power pro but I use a lite drag of 25lbs, in freshwater I use a drag setting of 8~12 on 30lbs line I only tighten up when the drag is being stripped or I get stuck in weeds.

Stripers put up the typical Bass fight in close, out where they pick up your bait, depending on the bait they either play with it at first, then wolf down and take off like a bat out of Hell, or they inhale it right a way a start swimming off at first like there's no cause for alarm and then go nuts. I seems Stripers break 80lbs mono test because the person didn't know what they where doing and locked down the drag. :irked:

FISH LANDED-3 :irked:

Went out to "Farrington" on a solo mission today. It was alittle cold in the morning and the water temp never crossed 52. It was a slow long day, with all three fish being caught on the crank bait.

I hate to admit it but I think my season is coming to a end. The water is about to drop below 50 and stay there. Shorter days and it seems all the warm days left, also are work days. Im not giving up yet but the end is coming.

3 fish 8 hours, not a good day!!

FISH LANDED-6

Today I went out to "Carnagia lake" in Princeton,NJ. This was only my second time fishing there this year. It was a beautiful day, probaly the last time the air temp will reach 70 this year.

I was the first boat on the water at 7:30 and about five minutes later another boat with two people on it followed. I bring this up cause these people taught me a very good lessen today. So Im sticking and moving doing my usual and I have caught two at the point were I meet up with them. I was happy with my two until they tell me that they got 6. So I ask them are you guys jigging cause I noticed you guys were taking your time. They said no, we are using 4" senkos. As we are talking one of them catches another bringing their total to 7.
Im bring this up cause seeing them catch bass in cold water on a rubber worm really blew me away. Until today I really thought tring to use rubber worms would be a waste of time in cold water. I knew that when fish are not that active that a slow presentation is the way to go but I also thought that when the water is below 55 that you should be using a jig, not a rubber worm. I stand corrected!!
Back to the update. So naturally I tie on my dinger and on another pole I put on a 1/4oz bullet weight and a tube. The "tubey tube" caught me my thrid and fourth fish. The fifth fish came on the "spinny" and the sixth and final fish was landed on the "dinger"

Learned a very good lessen today!!!!!!

Well the bite has fallen wayyyyy off at my favorite spot. For the last 4 outings I have only been able to land 7 fish. Normally I can pull in on average about 4-6 fish per outing, even if they are lil dinks. Here are the pics of the fish I have been able to land. The first one is of a guy that was there that never saw a LMB before and was cheering me on the whole time. As I was talking to him, I threw out a cast, and got so into talking to him that I didn't even recognize the tick tick tick at the end of the line, and this is what was trying to get my attention.
