Dreams, I am sure you can appreciate this new spot. Loaded some pics. This river runs about 6-7 ft deep on average, this spot the channel is around 15, with the eddies and flats running about 7-8. This hole I located is a fairly isolated with no dams south for 20 miles and none up river for a very long ways so the fish that have access through here is very diverse. I caught my PB at 15 lb 14 oz about 100 yards up river on a flat next to a 6 ft channel with no structure around. Also lost a fish the first of october on a hook that set back into the bait. Tried to carp it a little bit this weekend with no luck but a buddy saw 2 dozen buffalo all 10 lbs and up right under the bridge last week. Located under and around a railroad bridge thats been abandoned for a VERY long time. The other side of the river has no access because it is a military base. All under the bridge is concrete rubble clear out 10 ft into the water. Immediately upstream is huge log jams with a riffle just ahead of it. Very excited to get after flatheads next year at this spot as I is the PERFECT habitat in this river system.
I just wish I would have found it in time to at least fish for flatheads one time this year. It seems unfair to find such a nice spot and then have to wait 5 months to try!
We both went out last night and I caught this 10lb 11oz channel on hotdogs. Cats are close to the bank, around 1-15 feet out and biting really well. My gf had to 2 runs
