Corn on a hair rig. I use a pack bait molded around my sinker as well and put my leader through it leaving the hair rig exposed in the pack ball. I use quick oats, grits and corn in my pack bait. Very effective on rivers if you're wanting to give it a go!
Really starting to warm up and no rain for 4 weeks, longest dry spell in 2 years. Went out chasing Leis at one of my local lakes, not expecting much as half of the big ones have mouthfulls at the moment. Only got this 20 incher and a couple of Aussie Bass.
its real simple. I just use a can of quick oats (about 16-18 oz... I think), half a can of sweet corn and pour all the liquid in and a little bit of grits. Add a little water til its sticky and will stay packed around sinker. If its breaking off, add a bit more oats or grits. If you use too many grits, the bait wont stay on, same for too much water. Its nice because it chums the area that you are fishing your bait all in one cast.
got out at first light... one blue and one small pufferfish from 5:30am to noon.. nobody was catching em, definitely a huge disappointment today weather was beautiful but no fish were around to be found
