yeah man it was a gorgeous fish, really nice gold color to it but he didnt wanna take pics until we got in and it was too dark at that point =\
Well here's my fish story for the year, went with some old highschool buddies catfishing this afternoon, caught 8 total, had pics of all of em on my phone, well the last little bit we were out there my buddy catches a good sized snapping turtle. He's never fished before so I went to go help him and looked over, saw my pole start pulling forward, and then launch in to the pond before I could get to it. Well, me being the genius that I am jumped in after it without taking my phone or wallet out of my pockets. Got the rod back and caught the fish, bout a 4lb channel. smh. I'll try and see if my friend that got a pic of me in the pond with the fish can get it to the internet, phone is soaking in rice hopefully will get the pics back but if not, new phone time. >_<

my greatest fear is losing a rod, not because of the rod but because of losing the fish that pulled it in. the pier i fish has nice railings but my rods dont have alot of play to them so when the fish gives a good pull sometimes the butt of the rod comes off the ground. on multiple occasions i have had the reel hit the railing as im sprinting over to get it, only to find out that the fish has either broke the line, hung me up, or was dinky and just had some moxy. It will go over one day and ill probably **** my pants.
hell yeah man but i got my rod back and the fish, its all about priorities 
- also went to bass pro yesterday man, was gonna post a pic of the stuff i got but at the moment idk if my phones gonna work, got a pair of those new 4 blade booyah spinners and a black and blue chatter to try out along with some other random stuff

haha i think that I would have gone after the rod too and I definitely wouldnt have thought to empty my pockets either, Im guessing.
Heading out to fish a bit this weekend. Hopefully some more flathead pics to share. I would even settle for some channels or drum. We are in the middle of the worst heat wave and drought in recent memory so we'll see how that affects the fishing.

Went fishing early this morning with my new fly rod! I caught a few bluegills, and I think I did pretty well for my first time handling a fly rod!
