I ended up not fishing at Sandy Hook. I went with my youth group, and they went to another part of the park, instead of the specific beach I thouht we were going to, where I could cast a line in right next to the designated swim area. Well, there's always another day!

bummer, hopefully you get on those blues soon!! I havent had much luck in a while myself, just a few decent ones here and there.
Fish landed-8
7-31 was a quick stop at the D&R canal(provinceline rd) where I was able to land two on the popper....
8-1 my nephew and I hit up two spots. First spot I banged a small CP and the second stop I banged a red breast sunnie, both fish came on the popper.....
8-3(today) I picked up my dude from camp and he said "take me fishing". So I choose "Rosedale". I started out with the popper but it didnt take long for me to realize that wasnt the ticket, so I pulled out my number one. Shortly after I banged my first(12"er), then I missed one but a few minutes later I landed a monster 4.82 !!!
. I went on to land two more before we called it quits. I let my dude reel in number three(pic) !!
First monster in like a month !!!!

FISHING IS THE BEST SPORT ON THE PLANET Nice catches CF! I went out today in the wonderful rain and got a nice big skunk. But, my new fishing line should be coming in soon! I ordered a spool of Berkley Nanofil. I've heard it's really good! Can't waid to recieve it!
Thanks and I was at rosedale when it was drizzling and the bass seemed to be swimming around cause I stayed in one spot and every once in a while I would get a strike. Once the rain stopped the bite did too....
my deep sea trip sucked... i let myself get dehydrated and had to sit out about an hour, had a MONSTER trigger partially straighten my hook out and get off about 20feet under the boat, mate restraightened the hook instead of replacing it and i lost a nice grouper about 10 minutes later when the same hook straightened out again... fished for larger fish the majority of the trip and only brought home 1 keeper silver 1 vermillion 2 black bass 2 ringtails and 2 grunts.... caught more just either too small or didnt want... bad day of watching the kid next to me catch everything under the sun
haha gotta hate it when people around you are catching all of the fish on those trips... fortunately, I have always been the lucky one but I am sure that will run out next time I go out. Bummer about that hook though. A nice trigger and grouper would have been fine meals.
