That's sucks Dreams.... Feels like the season is closing no matter how much we fight it.... It's ok tho, next season is right around the corner !

She has rod holders built into the gunwale but they are mostly used just for transport or trolling. I havnt fished fresh water once since moving to Florida. Even a 40lb flathead cant compare to the fight of 10lb snapper. Once you hook into a good sized amberjack youll know why they call them reef donkeys. Ive literally moved off spots because I was physically worn out from fighting amberjack and big red snapper and wanted to target something smaller.
Saltwater fishing has gotten me spoiled. They fight 5x harder and taste 10x better!

Dreams, Not a single problem over on catfish1. I've been hearing some pretty shady things about the catfish nation tackle shop owner, especially since my experience. Heard anything about that?
JD I won't argue the fact that saltwater fish fight like hell. I probably wouldn't freshwater fish too much if I was on the ocean. Hard to say I guess. One day I'll know. I never catch squat in the gulf though. Grunts and the always out of season grouper.

Shoot a LMB has nothing on a spanish mackerel. It just wasn't fun anymore fishing for bass once i came back home form the gulf. I caught turbo cigs that fought harder then the bass at the lake. And you can't catch a 70 pound tarpon in a lake.
Why I picked FW over SW:
Growing up my father did both. FW trips went as he used minnows and I used worms. He would catch LMB and for me it was just panfish. Then my first ever lure was a black roaster tail(silver blade) and that's what turned me out cause I would feel red breast sunnies straight kill it but my first monster bass came on a shiner !
Now far as my experience with SW it was surf fishing at point pleasent/belmar. Pops would catch flounder and all I would get was horseshoe crabs... Then when pops brought a 24"er things got alittle better for me. We would catch alot of wake fish(summer trout) but it just didn't do it for me....
Im a power fishermen so dropping bait to the bottom and waiting isn't that much fun unless we're catching often. When I went striper fishing last year it was cool catching them and blues using jigs. FW for me might not be the greatest fights but for me it's more challenging, in turn making it more rewarding for me. In my opinion it takes more skills to find and figure out how the LMB want it....
PS- I definitly want to wrestle with some tarpon before my time is over !!

Everyone has their own idea and style of fishing, no shame in that 
On the subject of tarpon. I caught probably a dozen or more of these little rascals in the pic and they fought and jumped and pulled like crazy, I cant imagine what the big ones do. At the dock where I went out diving, there were 6-7 footers probably 100 pounds and bigger and I was simply amazed at their size and appearance. HUGE!!
