Next time get a pic of that snakehead. Keep your fingers out of its mouth and it won't bite. You act like its a dog that's going to run you down. I have lipped snakeheads before and not been bothered. Don't let people kill those fish though. You caught it so you can decide if it lives or dies but I assure you that killing that one did no good other than murdering a fish. At least eat it. Nice little bass. You weight guessing is a bit more realistic this time.
It's a pickerel
What a picture of a snakehead bite on a girl's leg? If I am not mistaking but that bite come from a large catfish. The park ranger people that walk around said as soon as you catch a snakehead you can't put it back. They said you HAVE TO behead it. I was going to put it back. The guy walked up and grabbed it by its tail. Then he pulls out this huge knife and starts hacking away at it. Cool looking fish. I was scared it was going to bite because of what I've heard. I've seen a pic of what "was" a snakehead bite on a little girls leg. They sound really dangerous and I didn't want to take the risk.

Yes it is illegal but it is pointless as you cannot get rid of them and then there's lot of complaints of the dead fishes being stinks on the bank and also at the fishing areas. Would you want to fishing in same spot with a rotten bloated 25lbs carp basking in the sun or seven dead snakeheads full of maggots? Some of us do let these invasives go back in the water where they come from....(make sure nobody notices you). Also not all invasives are good to eat.its illegal to let invasives go back after caught and mfk does not condone illegal activity.
