finally going to have a decent amount of time off this week i'll have to get some lines out at least one morning! as tired as i've been it's tempting to just go with catfishing over bass fishing, a lot more time to rest. i'll have to go back after that sucker that ate that big white perch at wheeler again 
First boat trip on my little river. Much easier and nicer to access different spots and not have to worry about some redneck murdering me. Landed 2, lost a few to snags, bad hook sets and swing and misses! Scale was broken but biggest was probably around 12 or so.

nice spot josh, looks like it might hold a nice big fat one. You probably saw the post of catfish1 but one of the guides up here caught 117lbs in 3 fish on lake aldred, went there once last year and need to go back. They have to be close to spawning, everyone else is hitting or missing big time right now. My tournament is the 23rd, hope they are biting that night.
There are at least 2 hogs there! I lost a 20+ at the bank 2 weeks ago while I was scooping it and lost what I think was at least a 30 as I was lifting it off bottom to net it, never saw it but had it in right under me in about 12 ft of water. Very steep dropoff immediately off the bank. Right under that tree in the middle there it drops fast to 15 ft and 10-12 ft or so all along the bank with structure. 3-6 ft every where around it. Scouted some awesome logjams today down river that sit in 5-6' of water with 2-4 feet all around it. HAS to hold fish. Only thing missing is good depth but its the same river system so there are big fish around. It actually may be the best smallmouth river I have ever seen too. We scouted today and cast around and hit some REALLY nice smallies.
Didnt see that post on catfish1, Ill check it out. Hope that tournament goes good. The spawn is a bit funny here this year. Some are egged up and some are egged out but no trouble catching fish, just not huge fish or huge numbers (but they are there). Come July, it'll be game on!
well first trip of june was a miserable failure. storm got here about 5 hours before it was supposed to and i fished through it, got drowned like a rat. kept fishing though, ended up with 9 small channel cats about 1lb ea (one on a spinnerbait) and caught a 5" bluegill with my hands. missed a couple decent hits that could have had some size but nothing real big. =\
