yeah im thinking the 3000 as well. will look at em side by side but i'm 6'5 with big hands and the 2000 just gets lost in my grip. very successful day as far as acquiring new gear though I can't wait to fix up this senator!

Okay today I went fishing on the Delaware River and tried every lure I had. No fish. Any advice on what to use? I bought worms and I hope they work. I need to try about 10 more things and ill have used all my options.

The only thing I would suggest is fish the creeks

try nightcrawlers, cut baits like shad and sunfish, sweet corn for carp. fish the bottom and hit different areas. Catfish like deeper water access and carp and bass can be caught in those areas but also shallower flats as well. Do some research on river structure.

What's happening out there guys? Jworth? Dreams? Kevin? NC? Anyone catching fish?

nope its hotter than balls. when i went home to charlotte I went with an old highschool buddy out on his boat on lake wheeler, we were on the water at sunrise, tried marking fish, caught 2 small 1lb bass deep and a huge white perch, eventually realized they weren't hitting deep and went shallow, caught a nicer 2lb-2.5lb bass but that was it on the day, missed several bites on a shakey head. 6 weeks ago they were going and fishing deep and literally catching 100 fish a day in the 2-3lb range

We are facing the worst drought since the 1930's and the water levels are at record lows. The rivers are stagnant and the cats really are not even remotely active right now. I went 2 weeks ago and had one run and the hook didnt set. I also got about 1000 mosquito bites, and I am not exaggerating. Most of the rivers I fish would be considered creeks everywhere else, and they are just so low right now that places that are usually under several feet of water, are now sandbars. I obviously havent been making a priority of getting out there. I am going this weekend and won't hope to do much good. I have been tying some carp hair rigs recently and am going to have to switch over to them for a while since the cats arent active.

Right on guys. The heat must be wide spread because its been hot up here too. High 80's and 90's and very little rain. The lakes are still fishable but the rivers are all very low. Hopefully we'll all get some rain soon.
