FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Between the last two nights I've landed 44 bass. The first spot I went to each night was a pond I haven't fished in at least three years. Needless to say that rust showed only landing 6 fish the first night and 3 the second. Meanwhile my honey hole produced 20 bass the first night and 15 the second. The average fish pulled out of the honey hole was around 2lbs while the other was around 1lb. 95% of these fish were caught on buzz baits with a few on senkos or finesse mixed in. Here are some pictures.

Good work. You fish buzz baits at night huh? That could figure into some of the misses too. If the fish can't see the lure well they might just be missing it.

I had an almost full moon and was using an all black one. When the fish look up at the lure they can see it riding the surface from the moonlight and hear the noise. It's a great night time lure for me and usually darker colors work for me at night and it paid off. Surprisingly I didn't miss many fish at all I'd say less than five. The buzz baits nice since I usually hook them right in the middle of the upper lip. Also I throw a decent sized one so that usually cuts the amount of dinks I catch. I have a feeling the first nights success was attributed to me wear my colleges bass fishing teams shirt

nice

I do allright on catfish, two or six catfish per night and few dogfish. Now I know why nobody would use dogfish as cutbait....mushy and gelly as hell! I do caught some walleyes in same hole with catfish. I don't fishing for bass and pike as few lakes has suffered summer kills with northern pike, carps, white suckers and tulibees.

they say dogfish is really good eating if you make patties out of them.

Well the dogfish is inside the belly of a catfish at this moment. But I still have two huge dogfish fillets in my freezer at this moment...maybe trying smoked dogfish as I keeps hearing people saying that they are good smoked fish. I have no luck finding smaller catfish for eating since I keeps catching catfish over 25" (you are allowed to keep one over 25" in Minnesota regulations). I did caught lots of monster bullheads over 15" (yellows, browns and blacks). Plus I have a new wet pet...a small shortbodied bullhead that I caught on a cutbait.

bullheads are fine eating too if you catch one big enough. I prefer them as bait! let me know how that dogfish turns out.
