I agree with the other people it's obviously not a small mouth regardless of if it's unhooked wrong the teeth r way off the gill plate doesn't match a bass gill plate and the eyes r way to big to be bass eyes everyone but you thinks it's a walleye,saugeye,or sauger

I just got an email from another biologist and I asked him a question about the tooth. He simply says "The smallmouth bass is becoming dessicated, and is showing tooth more than normal"

Yes but tht doesn't explain the eye size or the gill plate does it? Didn't think so

He said "Finnage is wrong. Body shape is wrong. Fish that are drying out will show more tooth, as the mucous membranes dry out very quickly, and expose more teeth. The location of the pectoral fins is too high for sauger/walleye (Think darter here). Solid tail color. And if we could actually see the dorsal fins, we would see that they are nearly connected." and he also said that the scales is too large for a sauger/or a walleye.
 
well guys i came home checked this to see if anybody CAUGHT ANY FISH and all i have to say is what the hell. you guys wanna bicker for pages on end make a new thread for it. i don't care what it is, the fish is dead, get over it.

JD - hate to hear that your 'yak is still giving you fits. I'm waiting for some good weather on an off day to get out to the stream. Glad you got in to some dolphin and got to enjoy them on your way back it.

Thanks, I missed an awesome day today on the water. A local group of guys went out today and nabbed some really nice dolphin approaching twenty pounds as well as a really nice sailfish. My sail is coming, I know it.

As for the fish in question, SMB. I was going to post that the teeth look bigger because the lips have melted away for what ever reason then I saw MN_Rebel beat me too it. How anyone can confuse this fish with a sauger/walleye is beyond me...
 
These are all the good sized fish we got in a couple week period most of them were caught about the same time we were catching 30 to 40 a day most of them being smaller under 2 pounds
