Thanks guys. It was a blast. I've caught bigger but I have also caught a lot less there. I caught longnose gar and Florida gar. Longnose are amazing fighters. You should have seen the bowfin I lost at the boat, it's head was almost as wide as mine. No joke, it may have been a record. Amazing. Was really disappointed I lost it.

Really like the Bowfin,do they fight like snakehead?

they dont fight as hard or erratic as snakeheads but they are good fighters. They fight just about like the largemouth do.

Great job "Jworth" and yeah snakeheads fight harder the bows. Bows fight like bass but they hit lures like the Essex family !

it was hard to show that bowfin's teeth once it was landed but trust me, they have a lot of sharp teeth. That rascal got a hold of my thumb and it bled quite a bit! That was a rough day as I also got a finger full of gar teeth.

Catching fish in that weedy area that I took pics of was a blast. What you dont see if the fairly dense hydrilla just under the surface in many places so once I set the hook, you had to keep the fish high and coming in fast!!
