FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

Hit Pensacola Bay and Escambia Bay for sheepshead and bull reds today. It was 75 out and I got a little sunburn.

Fishing wasnt too great, caught only six sheepies all day and no bull reds. Couldnt keep the sharks off our baits. Oh well still nice to be on the water.
 
Pick up My Fishing License today and ready to do some damage. Waiting for the Stripe Bass run in March, playing with rainbow Trout in lakes and Surf perch to feed the Addiction. Hoping to pick up some gear for Summer Halibut fishing and Rock Cod. Sturgeon bite is On in the Bay but Im land lock.....No voom voom on the waves. Seeing Nice dino Fish from local Fishermen. Go get Em MFK
 
Picked my license up today well yesterday now that it's past 12. I'll be looking to hit some of the smaller park ponds on mon then later in the week hit one of the larger lakes.
 
went back to the expo today... man... got my girlfriend a spinning reel combo and then got a hell of a deal. picked up a 7' MH all star, 7' MH Johnny Morris, and a 7'M Tourney special (saltwater) rod... for get this... $50 TOTAL. rods had been re-tipped but are in great shape, can't beat over $300 worth of rods for $50 bucks. also picked up an ambassadeur 5600 BCX for casting for flounder at the beach
 
you got the 6500c3 or a 6600? Careful with those BCX reels, have a bad rep for bad parts and faulty workmanship. The c3's are made in sweden and done well. The BCX series is made in China. Good deal on those rods!! Wish we had a fishing expo!
 
i got the c3 for my birthday but did pick up a 5600 as well, got it cheap so figured it was worth a shot, just kinda got caught up in the moment on that one lol - im just ready to start getting this stuff put to good use
 
well dad rang in the new year right.

Had a hard time getting bait on the potomac, and had to mainly use frozen all day. Dad got 6, 22.68lbs and 26.36lbs were his 2 biggest (rest were dinks). I almost caught the skunk and managed to finally get a 9lber before we called it quits. Considering water temp was 38, i cant say we had a bad day! Will post pics later today after i get off work.
 
NCState, definitely post up your review of that BCX after you've hit some fish on it. I've read good and bad reviews. Unfortunately the bad outweigh the good, but lots of different situational uses that I have seen so its not all consistent. I didn't like the thumb bar on it, I prefer the button that the c3's have. Never fished one though. Post up your thoughts on that 6500c3 too, I am certain you will love that reel.
