FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Even pictures of those ugly cats make me happy! Nice fish. Can't wait to get out there. Should be in full swing within 2-3 weeks if we continue with decent weather.

went to dick's and picked up my new fresh and saltwater licenses along with a new pair of long needlenose that were much needed along with some zoom ol' monster 10.5" curlytail worms and brass weights.. can't wait to go try out these huge worms, really think they're gonna be a gamechanger at some of the highpressure lakes i've been having to fish recently

Jd dont fret, i try to keep out at least one larger bait. The fish around here have some real nads when it comes to taking down baits. One the 3ish lb channels we caught last night ate an 8" shiner minnow (that i thought had flathead written all over it). The 12lber was a real surprise on a smaller piece of cutbait. But i was using 6"ish bluegill and had an 8" bullhead out the whole time. That stretch of river isnt known for its monsters. Ive only ever seen some 20's come out of it and one 38lber. Its getting better and doesnt have alot of pressure on it, but it is growing. Its also the closest one to my house which doesnt hurt either. I figure in another 5 or 6 years it will be producing 30lbers like the other upper sections of the susquehanna are.

Fishing with 800 series reefrunners off the in-line boards.. The fish are all spawned out down there, which is early due to weather.

Heres a few more from the next day.. My semi-sober crew.

You can see 1 of my in-line boards in the top left corner of pic. Just over my friends shoulder.

Frustrating day to say the least. Caught this 5 and 6lber literally before i could get my rods in the water and everything went downhill from there.

got my rods in at the channel and literally could not get the two down without one going off, and hard, i have no idea why but i couldnt hook up on the fish. I was fishing from under a tree and every time i got a hit something went wrong. one big one i had my bait clicker set, i forgot to crank the handle before trying to set the hook. about 7 or 8 others i hit the tree above me. i even switched to a circle hook on one rod in the hope they'd hook themselves, caught one dink about 8" and lost another 6 or 7 fish. It was the most frustrating thing i've ever seen catfishing, i was getting the hits and just couldn't hook up. on two other fish I could feel the hook hit the roof of the fishes mouth and just slide out. these were big cats in a feeding frenzy and I just couldn't get a hook in, which is weird cuz its the exact same hook that caught the first two with no problem. Worst thing was I finally hooked a big one that was screaming drag, and i horsed him too much and pulled the hook. Fish felt like it ran 10lb+. Hard hard day on the water. Any suggestions from the cat guys would be appreciated, no idea what to think. to top it all off i lost my sunglasses out there. uhg. at least i caught the 2 nice ones and they cooked up nicely

Went out this morning for some fishing for roach/bream.
Caught a couple dozen roaches but nothing over 8inch,didn't really matter since the weather was really nice.
probably heading out again this afternoon for some bream on another spot, and celebrate 420 in the evening.

yeah dreams i hear ya, it was killing me. they were literally tryin to pull the pole in and then id hit the branches above me or something else would go wrong. the one im really kicking myself for was the big one, i just got so excited i had finally hooked up on one after an hour and a half of frustration i tried to crank on him as he went on a run and the hook just popped out after fighting him for a solid 30-45 seconds. so help me god i will pull a 10lber out of there this spring, i know they're there it's just user error at this point.

This morning I caught 30 fish in 2 hours including this 20 inch american shad.
