It's illegal to fish off shore with out a vent kit it's a shame he would made a great fight

Actually no that's the stomach being pushed out by the swim bladder and gases expanding, which should never be poked because it can actually kill the fish.

The proper thing to do is vent the abdominal cavity, not poke a hole in the fish’s stomach. It turns out that the air bladder will heal if vented properly.Yes the big part sticking out the mouth is the stomach and in this situation the bladder has ruptured.

usually don't catch anything pier fishing, but did pretty good yesterday. caught my first black drums and sheepsheads, but wasn't lucky enough for a red drum though i saw about 15 caught while we were there. ended up catching somewhere upwards of 25 black drum, 15 blow toads, 8 or 9 sheepshead, a few blues and spots mixed in, and a 15lb+ skate. fished for about 4 to 4.5 hours total
thanks bud! no monsters but had a good time, hopefully head back down at least one or two more times before it gets too cold to mess with!
