amazing what water clarity will do to a fishes color. one from a smaller pond on the same property with muddy water and one from the larger pond with more water clarity

Yup, I noticed that before: bluegill I catch locally are pretty pale like a tanish white color and ones I catch in Erie are almost black! Going out again today so hopefully I get something to post about :)

Third time out now, just one fish again and not a giant at that but it was still about a minute long fight!

Location: local creek
Date: 3/11/14
weather: partly cloudy
temp outside: 65
water temp: 40-46 F
fishing style: fly fishing with many different flies I tied myself.
fish caught:

1) rainbow trout, 13 inches, 1 pound, caught on San Juan worm fly, nice fight.

First trip this season the lakes here in south jersey were still mostly frozen so I went to the delaware river for stripers got a 18" cat a 15" striper and a 12" white perch that I didn't photograph. More snow tonight so who knows when the next outing will be. Winter won't go away this year!ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1395019295.678288.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1395019305.071130.jpg

Dang it man! Catfish around here don't bite until Mid April and I'm dying to catch one! SO BADLY!!!

Oh almost forgot, nice fish bro!

i have questions, is braided line better than mono for top water fishing?
and is braided better for distance casting? (i heard the smaller the line diameter, the longer the cast and braided line has more strength per diameter than mono)
some correct me

I wouldnt think it matters much. I use monofilament for everything but that's just me. Add some split shots or sinkers and you will cast farther.
