Fishing season 2k14!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You're a lucky man Danny, back when I lived in England we had really cool paylakes with all sorts of fish and obtaining a license and ticket for the local canals and rivers was really easy. Here, obtaining licenses is hard, tickets cost a few hundred bucks a year and the paylakes only have trout :(

That's no good is it mate :( it should be cheap to get everyone into the sport , I think its cheap in UK to stop people fishing without a licence the fines just not worth it in comparison to the cost of year licence
My mate lives out in the country next to a stocked trout pond but he just bangs a few lines out with worm on whilst walking his dog and gets a few freebees lol ;):D

I agree, they want the money to keep the rivers here stocked but IMO more people paying less money would be more beneficial..

Haha your mates a clever one!:D

I'm off to the coast next Saturday for a week on my holiday , bought a new 12ft beach caster to bang out while I'm chilling with the family on the sand , and I'm using my 10ft pike rod to try spinning off the harbour walls and to try bag myself a grey mullet out of the harbour possibly on imitation bread so it stays on hook in the current or ragworm attached to the back of a small spinner (I'll probably come back empty handed lol sea fishing not really my thing I only go once a year :D )

Sick mate! I'm going holiday in a few weeks might get a beachcaster beforehand but more likely just gonna take my fave rock and fish from some rocks or a pier all day everyday :)

I don't really get too much time to fish usually have to entertain the kids they get bored fishing unless we catch every minute lol and crab fishing gets about an hour then its rubbish plus were usually staying quite a walk away from the beach , but this year I've got an apartment basically on the beach its advertised 0.1 km from the sand so plenty more opportunity to fish for me this year :D I can't wait five more days hard graft left and I'm off

NC, you been getting after any cats? I havent caught anything over 10 pounds since I landed that 41. Weather has been well below normal temps and like a weekly roller coaster. Plain awful.

What ever happened to Dreams?!?

no idea where dreams went bud... i havent had a chance to try for cats. Moved and got a new job and I have worked literally 200 hours in the past two weeks setting up a new store. Haven't got this area figured out but the good news is that there are lots of opportunities for huge blue cats and there are some big flatties around as well

just because they're trash fish doesn't mean everybody thinks its okay to destroy them. they play an important role in many of our lakes and rivers, only the ignorant kill their catch for the hell of it. As far as lip grippers being damaging, yes and no. they're damaging when improperly used, as they are in this picture. Never hold a fish more than a couple pounds fully vertical with them, use the grippers and support the fish near the back when possible to avoid organ damage
Many trash fish offers benefits to the ecosystems. But the carps there's no evidence that they benefits the ecosystem in North America and we could never find any evidence that the carps plays an important role for our ecosystems. Maybe young sterile grass carps.
