Thanks for the carp tips.
Going pike fishing tomorrow, might pick up some Savage Gear Real eels before, anyone have any expirience with them?

Wish I could help there but I've never been able to catch a single pike if any kind. My expertise is in catfish (mother than Erie cats which are impossible to catch :)) and carp.

Plenty of pike where I live I've got the canal 100m away from my house one way and a fishing pond full of unwanted pike 100m the other direction there a bloody nightmare when course fishing on the pond for bream and tench they grab fish as you reel them in and spook your swim once baited up constantly :banghead:

This makes me wanna get my license so badly! :( Paylakes it remains for me..

Most of the places near me are paylakes/day ticket , but the canal is pretty much unmanned so anything goes ben ;) and the pond near me was originally a nature reserve mostly for newts but the local kids stocked it with fish from the canal and other random places , there's a few monster carp 20lb + but there bloody hard to catch :D its got all sorts of other fish few koi and some hybrid fantail crusion carp , bream , tench , roach , perch and pike

You're a lucky man Danny, back when I lived in England we had really cool paylakes with all sorts of fish and obtaining a license and ticket for the local canals and rivers was really easy. Here, obtaining licenses is hard, tickets cost a few hundred bucks a year and the paylakes only have trout :(
