Fishing today: Caught this drum, a great fish.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I went fishing at the Falls of the Ohio and there is some really fast water below the gate that come off in little streams and there were literally hundreds of drum there with their backs out of the water. It was a sight to see. They are a trash or rough fish though when it comes to fishing. I only target them when nothing else is biting. They even smell bad alive!

I think their blue color would look great in a monster tank.

There garbage fish, we catch them all the time while walleye fishing the in the detroit river, the only thing there good for is to see how far you can throw them from the boat.

yup

btw ewurm your picture taking skills look like they are improving

I caught 30 of them one afternoon on wigglers, they're easy to keep. We use to have this small lake in the back of my house, private and does not flow into any other water systems, so i transported like a dozen into the lake. During winter it freezes over for a couple of months, and I thought they must have been dead. But the next summer, I saw one floating up on top and a common snapping turtle was actually eating it, so it must have lived through the year.

I would have kept one but it was too big, I didn't have enough bioload available.

I also release almost all the fish I catch, unless it's going in my digestive system.
