Art or Science?

I say part science and part art. They both go hand in hand, because without either one, its just wouldn't come out one whole. The Yin and Yang of fish keeping.

i voted art(the science is already done, just use the internet)I like the art better becsause it makes it individual to me,my tanks dont look like anyone elses,as far as science every thing in need to know is already done for me,just have to look it up.Most filters are pug and play(not sceintific)water conditioners are already mixed in the bottle(not sceintific)etc. But just buying equipment will not make a beautiful tank, but the way it is decorated and choice of inhabitants to compliment each other is art.Anyone can look up a fish on the internet and buy what is needed to keep that fish alive(because none of us are scientist, unless that is your professon)but to make a tank beautiful and a joy to watch and keep it takes the art. Every tank that people remeber on mfk are the ones that take the art to the next level,r1-ridah as an example,if he had an empty tank no decor most wouldnt remeber his name.Tank of the month is the tank that takes the art to the next level, there is no researcher of the month or sceintist of the month on any forum, but they all have tank of the month.Art for the Win lol

Bacon it is! I enjoy fish keeping as much as bacon!

I voted for bacon, although I don't eat it.

What Mother Nature has created in the wild is science to me. What we keep in our glass/acrylic/fiberglass boxes is mostly art with some science thrown in.

I think fishkeeping is both an art and a science but for some it may be more of one than the other depending on one's personal approch to the hobby. In my case it is equally an art and a science, it allows me to express myself creatively when I'm aquascaping and logically when I am actually caring for my fish. I think this fusion of art and science is why I enjoy fishkeeping as much as I do.

anyways I voted bacon

Purely an art. If you can microwave a cup of water, the science part is easy. Making a tank look beautiful is the hard part, just look at all the tanks on this site :D
