Two out of my four sons have really gotten into fishkeeping because of me. It would be nice to have more of them interested to atleast help out on water change/cleaning day but I am happy with having someone in the house not think I'm crazy!!! Seems like I am always hearing "we live in a fish house, there are aquariums everywhere!!"

I have the opposite problem. My family won't even turn off the light if I tell them to so my plant die or i get a massive algae problem. I had to get rid of plants after about 3 months as I couldn't trust my family to keep them alive. My brother is either knocking up the substrate with the magnetic algae scraper and seriously overfeeding my fish after accusing me of starving them or buying fish that i tell him won't work in the tank (e.g 8 inch pleco and a 5 inch firemouth in the 29 full of jewel cichlids) and then listen to him accuse me of killing his fish when they inevitably die since i cannot convince my parents not to buy him what he wants. Took my tank apart and am going to set it up out of their reach and get friends to look after it when i set it up again. Hopefully thing will go well this time

My old roommate-mcavalli on here- 20g, setting up 55gallon-I'm trying to get him to buy a big fish that he doesnt know gets big...that way hes forced to upgrade soon
