Fishzilla: Snakehead Invasion

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi,hugely, blown out version of snakeheads, they walk, they attack people, they appear in any body of water and are invincible!

I hated NG for that.

any fish that is released into a different Eco system is a worry don't you think

WHY CAN'T ANY OF THESE SCIENTISTS DO REAL SCIENCE???

We need a certification program for lay biologists.
Apparently a degree lets you forget everything you learned.

Hi,in this video h aquarists keeping snakeheads were depicted as some kind of strange person.

I agree, the tone of the narrator and the diction used was disappointing for an NGC program. I hope they stop airing it, or perhaps make a new program that is more informed, strip the sensationalized aspects, and more on par with the quality expected of NGC.

That specific segment of the show made fish keepers out to be strange thrill seekers. Then the guy at the fish store that was interviewed, he was a total tool and bought into the 'yay I'm gonna be on NGC' bit.

What about the responsible fish keepers who know how to keep a lid on a tank? Who would never release their aquarium fish. Who keep fish for their interest in biology?

By airing the video of a snakehead ripping apart a goldfish, that is extremely misleading. Had the people behind this show been slightly more intuitive and open minded, or at least taken the time to thuroughly research the fish keeping hobby, they would've realized that graphic feeding practices/videos such as that are looked-down upon by the majority.

It's nice to see the MFK sticker, but I would prefer it not be there if that's the sort of impression being given off. I like to think we are a more enlightened bunch.

I understand the show tried to explain the media sensationalism behind the banning of snakheads in the U.S. but in doing so, they also played into it as well.

This show definitely hurt NGC's image, no doubt.

i seen bowfins/snakehead straight kill off all the bass in a nice size pond. I swear i only like two five pounders are left. Snakeheads for this hobby yes, but for bass fishing H**L NO

Here's a short clip of the 'program':

Here's John Odenkirk laying down the unbiased science:
