Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Thread went downhill, eh? ;)

Let's just say I'm in CA for the next couple weeks I'm eating plenty of In N Out. Animal style burger AND fries.

I eat a LOT of burgers from restaurants. I don't eat a lot of fast food burgers lately. I also went to culinary school and cooked for a fancy French restaurant for a while...
My palette is pretty damn good but I rarely eat "fancy" food on my own. Just an eternal quest for good basic food. Luckily a restaurant down the street from me serves a damn good burger for $5 during happy hour. I took JK47 there one time and he annihilated a different burger topped with bacon and ham... reminded me a bit of watching his dovii eat massivore. ;)

We have them all over here in Northern Virginia. Best classic American cheesebuger ever!!! All topings are free, they give you a bag full those delicious fries and you can crack and eat all the penuts you want while you are there. When I go for burgers I go 5 guys and I am a burger maniac.

We have one of these immediately next door to us at Uptown Station in here in Fort Walton Beach. Never been, but it's always packed, and I've heard from a couple of people that it's really good food.

The Virginia locations might be the closest ones to where I live.....I just consumed a California Whopper from BK and I pretended that it was from Five Guys.

^ hahaha, wth man, so random.

for those of you that haven't been inside one, they take alot of pride in the fact that alot of publications have voted them "best of XXXXX" and post them all over the store. the articles you see below the giant sign are actually newspaper and magazine clippings. all 3 locations i've been in has had these random clippings, most from publications you've never heard of so they mean squat to me. what do i care that some newspaper in delaware voted you best bargain?

I had 5 guys for lunch today. Good burger (on par with In-N-Out), but their fries are garbage.

My main gripe: what type of burger joint doesn't offer milkshakes?! I asked one of their employees why they didn't offer them she said because they only want to offer the best of everything they serve. She didn't know what to say when I told her their fries aren't all that good, so they might as well put out a mediocre milkshake as well (I didn't really say that, but I wanted to).
