that sounds pretty right...i'm sure the emporer and umbee are definately up there to

If by emporor you mean the African species then it is the last one on that list (Boulengerochromis microlepis). Umbees are high up on the list, just not in the top 5.

ben just showed me a vid of an emporor cichlid ........and i really want one! gonna need a huge tank! and a rich boyfriend!

I agree with SandTiger although I figured the emp would be higher up on that scale.....smaller then a Dovii, ummmm, I was under the impression that emp's reached the three foot mark and were tied or smaller only the C. Trem's........where did you get your numbers SandTiger?

Cichla temensis 99 cm/38"
Cichla ocellaris 74 cm/29"
Parachromis dovii 72 cm/28"
Cichla monoculus 70 cm/27"
Boulengerochromis microlepis 65 cm/25"

Again, that is according to fishbase.org. Where did you hear/read that B microlepis could reach 36"?

I was under the same impression, B. Micros reached 3 feet and are only challenged by Trems for largest cichlid.........
