This is the only species of Reptile in Connecticut.

Apperently they are fairly common along the Connecticut river, but I have never seen or caught one, despite how much time my lyme-ridden corse spends in the forest.

I never did either, one of the few CT reptiles I've never seen/caught at least once in my days up there. 5 lined skinks and smooth green snakes were the 2 I always wished I could find.

OMG, LMAO, i just caught one like 1hr ago, and im keeping it

i hadnt closed the net before i went outside, and i was still on this forum lol

Damn, I'm sorry all, I didn't mean "Reptile" I suppose I meant it was the only species of Lizard/Squamata.

I always forget about snakes and that is a DANGEROUS thing to do.

You know what's funnier? When I read it I read "lizard" and not "reptile" probably because I knew 5 lines were the only CT native lizard.

I was thinking that they kept the nice blue color. The adults are kind of bland. How did you keep them?

I kept 1 in 7th and 8th grade at my school in a 10 gallon tank.. They were super small at first so it was fine but i would recommend a bigger tank now that I think of it.. And I kept a couple through out hs as well..

You can catch TONS in the St. Cloud area if you are wondering.. Annandale, monticello, buffalo all those places are good

We have these, although I have never seen any of them in the wild:

LIZARDS

Six-lined Racerunner
Cnemidophorus sexlineatus

Five-lined Skink
Eumeces fasciatus

Northern Prairie Skink
Eumeces septentrionalis

From:

Ewurm- I actually had a couple five-lined skinks and one Northern Prairie skink as well now that I see the pictures!! I like the Northern Prairie skink a lot! In a tank, it looks kind of like a mini komodo dragon :headbang2

I use to have a five lined skink, a fat one too, got it from pj pets for $30

but it is very shy and quick, always try to escape the enclosure

so

I released it in the nearby forest / park (2 years ago)

and

I never seen it again
30$ u got ripped off unless u live in a different continent

I like them also . In couple of months you see lots babies real tiny, cute . IMO as adults fairly drab.

This one was like 5 feet up the wall of my garage . They sure can climb for a skink.

What are you feeding yours do you see it much or it mainly hides.
