Flagtail full colors

I wish I could help, but mine had full color when I bought him at 4"... he's 18" now. The only change was that he lost his juvi spots and now has more tail stripes.

i kind of think that flagtails tend to color in a way that's similar to tinfoil barbs. I've had some tins that show red at a very small size and some that don't. Those that don't show color from youth, probably don't show a lot as they grow. I've not had a flagtail, as go yet, but i'm looking for some, also. Good luck with that.

WOW!!! thats one hell of a flagtail. the biggest iv seen was around 10" at LFS. i keep tring to buy him but they keep telling me he's for display only
what tank mates are in with him?

I think theres different origins of flagtails. The ones without red comes from different regions than the one without red. Correct me if im wrong
