Hi guys i just picked up 5 Flagtail's at around 10cm. They are housed in my community 6x2x2 tank with various other fish. To name a few green arowana, blood parrots, king kong, geo alti's, dont tease me but i chucked in kigoma's as well! Ill envisage to get some good pics of the rest later.

Cool fish, but they're not cichlids! Watch for aggression, they're usually intolerant of their own kind.

Only in small groups.

I bought these privately. I normally never purchase fish from stores anymore as they charge ridiculous prices.

These were originally in a group of 7, and they are doing fine with one another. These guys tend to school and stay in the middle to top levels of my tank.

I did not realise they were not cichlid's! oops (rookie error).

What do these guys eat? Any suggestions? As ive read they are herbivores. Not much information on there diet habits online.

Im also thinking of purchasing a spotted gar at 15cm, i would think this should be okay as long as its tank mates are big enough.

.

Once they settle in they are not fussy when it comes to food. Mine is eating sinking Hikari gold pellets, i'm training my green aro to eat food sticks and the flagtail gets to it before the aro.

nice but their not cichlids

Show some tank shots if its not to much trouble. :D
