Id think as long as it had the shear bands on it and was sized properly at the pressure experienced on a drain line only, these would work just fine. Keep in mind it is a slip coupling. Pipe ends should still be nearly making contact. They are not intended to bridge gaps and such use will cause the potential for failures.

Fernco is simply the brand name. But the metal casing would definantly be preferred over plain rubber.

Thx guys i ended up returning it. I was thinking of taking the easy way out and even though i think it would have been fine i'll sleep better at night with hard plumbing.

Sorry for the late reply. I was busy with other things. Okay I used it ONLY for my drain and return where the bulkhead meets the 1st 90 degree pvc so in future I won’t have to throw out my bulkheads if I move the tank. Now that hard plastic to hard plastic pvc using these no hub couplings. My flex hoses from drain and pump are strapped down by bands. Heck the drain side I glued a change over from pvc to slip hose connector and I ty rap the hose to that connector. At first it had some leaks by I tightened it day or two and now using these no hubs since 2015 42C9E2E4-FF78-4CB6-A3E1-552668471B5F.jpeg8D5DA9F3-BDDB-4C28-B7BD-8BCED1679083.jpegBC3E95A6-142B-4E5D-888D-4B84BD90C95D.jpeg

J jaws7777 Here you go with pvc to flex hose pic are the right bulkhead which connects to a 90degree than change over to barblet which also joint together by no hub F7E3DCC7-BA2C-4F89-8A82-E16D59E333CA.jpeg

I would use a stainless steel band rather than a zip tie.

Agree but they make ty-raps that steel grip instead of the all plastic construction (meaning the grip part is steel). the ones I use ONLY on the drain are heavy duty with steel grip ty-raps and the width is about 3/8 - 1/2”. Of course my pump and flex hose are using stainless steel band ties. Either case those no hub couplings would save all your bulkhead fitting if you do need to take it apart in future. Now of course you have to go do some research on them so both bulkhead and all the fittings will fit your needs. I work construction and I get lots and lots of free neat stuff from other trades. Of course if you don’t you can always use home cheapo stuff like the 1” no hub couplings that fit the 3/4” bulkheads. Lots of luck and if you have Qs feel free to text me for a faster reply.
